Making a difference against climate change even during your lunch break

For 8 out of 10 Italians, climate change is an emergency that needs to be tackled as soon as possible. We want to strive to give everyone the chance to become part of the solution, even during their lunch break.

That is how FooDprint Lunch, the lunch that puts emissions on pause, was born. We have chosen to measure and offset the CO₂e emissions of certain dishes by supporting a climate project.

Every day, Tavolamica's customers find some dishes with a new piece of information: the value of their climate impact expressed in CO₂ equivalent. If customers choose to buy and consume the dishes included in the project, their carbon footprint is offset by Camst through the purchase of certified carbon credits linked to projects working to reduce and remove tonnes of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. Camst has chosen to support a certified project in Nepal that aims to improve the efficiency of open-fire cookers (cookstoves), the only heating and cooking system used by the indigenous population in the central Tarai. In this way, they halve the amount of wood burned (up to 50% less fuel), limiting atmospheric emissions and deforestation.
